Dr. Ceponis has extensive experience as a clinical rheumatologist, educator, and physician-scientist, and has diverse clinical science background. This includes training in immunopathology of rheumatic diseases in Europe, and 5 years of experience in industry, and drug discovery.  Dr. Ceponis also serves as an instructor of the musculoskeletal ultrasound course for the American College of Rheumatology (ACR), and as a member of the Review and Assembly Committee for ACR MSKUS certification. The Rheumatology Fellows awarded Dr. Ceponis an Inspiring Teacher of the Year award in 2012 and 2013.  In 2000, Dr. Ceponis was awarded the Nordic Rheumatology Award of 2000 for one of the two best Scandinavian Doctoral These in Rheumatology.
