Grand Rounds
The conferences are currently held in person and in a virtual format (zoom) on Fridays between 8:00 AM to 9:00 AM.
The Basic Science Course & Med 256: Immunological Basis of Rheumatic and Allergic Diseases Journal Club is presented as a part of the Grand Rounds.
Our program is ACCME accredited program that focuses around education on prevention, diagnoses, and management of rheumatic diseases, and dissemination of clinical evidence-based and scientific advances in the field.
The target audiences range from physicians rheumatologists to rheumatology trainees, medical residents, medical and PhD students and allied health professionals, as well as industry and patient representatives.
The syllabus includes lectures on specific topics, sessions on ACR and EULAR reviews, case-based conferences, trainee and faculty scholarly activity presentations, monthly journal club style conferences, twice yearly "Citywide Grand Rounds" (rotated between UCSD, and community colleagues). These sessions are held weekly throughout the academic year. Each session is moderated by expert faculty.
The University of California, San Diego School of Medicine is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) to sponsor continuing medical education for physicians.
The University of California, San Diego School of Medicine designates this educational activity for one credit per hour in Category 1 credit toward the AMA Physicians Recognition Award. Each physician should claim only those credits that he/she actually spent in the activity.
